John Santoro
BIOGRAPHY
John Santoro is a skilled professional photographer who enjoys capturing the beauty found in nature, historical landmarks and people of all walks of life. He regularly photographs the great national parks of the US, the back roads of northern New England and the ancient lands of southern Europe. Early in his career, he covered news and sports in the Adirondack Mountains for United Press International. His photographs have been published widely including Sports Illustrated, Skiing magazine and many major newspapers around the world.
John travels to Italy and southern France with a special interest in their history, architecture, and people. In his travels, he was able to find and photograph his ancestral home and the birthplace of his great grandparents which are nestled in the hills of Campania in southern Italy.
As photography was transitioning to digital John worked at Apple as a liaison to the photo industry. Later he was the first product manager for the digital photo management application iPhoto, taking it from early development to market introduction.
John is based in Southern California and continues to perfect his craft relentlessly. Equipped with his wide experience and a degree in education he enjoys conducting photographic workshops that are rich in visual opportunities and valuable mentoring.
